The formal resettlement of refugees is not complete if it is limited to ESOL and a few months of rent  on an apartment of donated furniture. The creation of new, successful communities and neighborhoods requires deeper understanding, broader expertise, and a long-term, organized appreciation of the complications of acculturation. The complexities of health and well-being differently perceived by American and refugees is one such example.
