May 9, 2018 Community Partners Breakfast, Office of Leadership and Student Learning, UNCG.
A pechakucha-style format (20 slides, 20 seconds each). By talking about roles of cultural insiders and outsiders, we're reframing the status of students of color and welcoming everyone to newcomer communities who are willing to engage in serious cultural competency training.
I've purposefully included multiple narratives that can be emphasized according to our needs and audience. For example, one presentation might accent the journeys of individual youth, another on the importance of community engagement training, another on community-led projects, another on the community women and their lives.
