The Welcoming Greensboro Initiative

Our 2013-14 effort to influence the City of Greensboro to become part of a large national effort to push America’s metropolises to declare themselves open and welcoming to newcomers. The motion passed in early 2014, a week after the council voted to pass a motion to make Greensboro one of FaithAction’s “Stranger to Neighbor” cities and days after the reported shooting of a mentally ill refugee by a Greensboro police officer and the ensuing controversies about the release of body cam video footage.
